#3 Action Plan

1. Pray (Just talk to God using your own words)
a. Write down an action step you can take:
Start your morning with a prayer before breakfast
Pray for true peace to come and dwell within your spirit
Turn your daily and monthly problems over to God
Share your victories… so that others may be helped
Give thanks to God often… during the day…
2. Read the Bible (Read 10 chapters)
a. Your next action step to take:
Read Proverbs 15: 13 “A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.”
Underline the Bible verses that mean a lot to you
Ask for understanding…but keep on reading
Develop a consistent daily reading journey; listen for meaning
3. Begin choosing who you want in your boat of friends
a. Your next action step to take:
Eliminate associating with “always-criticizing” complainers
Make a list of positive, good qualities you admire in a true friend
Don’t let the bad friend paddle or guide your boat
Run away from people who feast on stress and chaos
“The friends you choose determine whether you win or lose. True friends will rejoice with you when you win.”
4. Start counting your blessings. Be thankful for what you have
a. Your next action step to take:
Make a written inventory list of “What I Am Thankful For”
Say, “Thanks” at the beginning and end of every prayer
Ask your grandkids what they are thankful for
Fall to sleep, “counting your blessings”
Help a friend by asking God for “your thankfulness to overflow”
5. Exercise faith and belief on a daily basis.
a. Your next action step to take:
Say, “I believe,” out loud, ten times today
Act upon the nudges that God gives you
Listen to the angels God sends your way
Look for God’s presence to begin residing in your inner soul
Take counsel in God-guided mid-course corrections
Smile daily and more often than ever before

#2 How Precious Is This Moment In Time?

Era (a memorable or important date or event; especially: one that begins a new period in history of a person or thing)
Regardless of age, time is the most precious asset a person has. For just a few moments, can you take a breather today, to reflect upon each of the decades that have already faded by?

God created you. Whether you believe it or not, you are here on this earth for a purpose. The problem is that God doesn’t always show you which path to travel. As time rushes by, God lets you make your own choices. Your decisions make all the difference.

You may not believe in God. You may not believe that God has plans for you. The song says, “It is no secret what God can do, what he has done for others, he will do for you…” Bruce Wilkinson, founder of “Walk Through The Bible Ministries,” states that, “there are over 30,000 promises in the Bible,” gifts from God, waiting to be claimed by you and me. “The trials that come your way are tests of what you believe about God.”

This time, now, today, is your personal era for achievement. Suggestion: write down in a notebook all your achievements for the year. Don’t worry about goals. Focus on outcomes. Develop a progress report for yourself. Maybe, for the first time, begin recording personal answers to prayer. What would you offer up as accomplishments?

Epoch (an event or a time marked by an event that begins a new period or development)

Your personal epoch story can have one of two effects on others. You can turn folks away from God or you can turn folks towards God. Have you ever considered what kind of legacy you are leaving along the way? Sitting on a wooden fence all the time, indecisive, eventually involves gathering splinters in an uncomfortable spot.

Want to receive gifts and promises from God? Try giving yourself to others. “Give and you will receive…” it’s a God promise.

Eons (aeon) (a unit of geologic time equal to one billion years)
What you do with your time either lasts for eons or evaporates without substance. It’s all up to you and God. A partnership never fully works out if the partners are traveling in opposite directions. The good news is that God is more patient and eternally smarter than you are. The pursuit of peace path is easy to find and follow when you believe God.

What is that path of peace? Why not jump off that fence and find out? What if you select the wrong way to jump? “Go ahead and jump, you will find out sooner.”

A team concept is more effective than attempting tasks solo. Just like choosing sides on a sandlot, you and God can become best friends. If you allow him, God will help you select and surround yourself with the right team players. “Where two or three are gathered in my name, I will be there…” another promise.

Start your faith journal today. It’s your outcome for the future.

PRESS RELEASE

The New Family Traditions Gospel Music Ministry
Jeff and Pamela Bost
(520) 559-0660

For Immediate Release

The Harmony Presbyterian Church and the award winning Bost Family Traditions gospel band would like to invite the community to join us for worship and inspirational gospel music, on Saturday, June 18, 2011, beginning at 5:30 PM. The church is located at 400 E Boardwalk (4 blocks north of Harmony Road). Admission is free.

The Bost Family Traditions is a five piece, hard driving, southern gospel group from Cochise County, Arizona described as the “quintessential family band.” The Bost family, consisting of Jeff and Pamela Bost, with their eight children, play an eclectic mix of progressive southern gospel, bluegrass and traditional- with a hint of western swing and a heaping helping of old-time family humor. Their program is an exciting combination of inspirational music, a warm family atmosphere and a timely message of hope for one and all.

This extra-large family band has been playing festivals, community events and churches full-time for over five years from Branson to LA. They have developed a strong following with their powerful vocal harmonies, seasoned virtuosity and warm family atmosphere. They have been recognized by the Branson based, Country Gospel Music Association (West) as the Bluegrass Band of the year and are the former Arizona State Family Band of the year. The Douglas Daily Dispatch reported that, “Even people who never listened to a bluegrass tune in their life find themselves enjoying the music of the Bost Family Traditions…”

The Harmony Presbyterian Church and the Bost Family Traditions cordially invite one and all to come and enjoy an old fashioned meeting with friends, family and bluegrass music. There is no charge for admission. Sponsored by the National Bluegrass Gospel Jam Network. For more information call Ron Camerrer (970) 481-5480.
